Coffee from Ethiopia is one of the oldest recorded on the planet and said to be the birth place of the original Caffea Arabica plant.
Coffee exports from Ethiopia reached £490 million to July 2014 and will rise sharply for the 2015 season as Brazil and a lot of Latin America suffer drought and fungus.
Generally grown in the regions of Sidamo (small, greyish bean) and Harar (greenish yellow bean), the flavours are subtly different with the former noted for its chocolatey, citrus and floral aromas and the latter for its fruity wine and distinctive mocha flavour.
